What kind of therapy do I practice?
I pull from a variety of therapeutic modalities. To list a few, I utilize a neuroaffirming DBT workbook, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), CBT and connecting with our inner children. Working with couples, I utilize the same DBT workbook, draw from my training in Gottman therapy but have also found Imago dialogues and attachment theory to be supportive.
Are children allowed in session with their parent or care giver?
Therapy needs to be accessible. Sometimes the only way we can go to therapy is by taking our child(ren) with us. However, that means we cannot always talk candidly about life. There is a balance that needs to be reached. As a parent who needed to take my toddler and baby with me to therapy, I get it. Reach out if you have specific questions about your situation.
Do you accept insurance?
Unfortunately I do not. This is because, as a LPC-IT with my own private practice, I cannot accept insurance of any type. I also know that therapy is expensive and still want to make sure it is accessible. Therefore, I do have a generous sliding scale and maintain openings for non-fee clients.
How do I qualify for non-fee client sessions or the sliding scale? What does the sliding scale look like and do I need to provide information of my income to verify my income? (click there to go to Payments & Fees)
Click here to find out more information regarding fees and payments. During our phone consultation, we will talk about what is financially accessible for you ranging from non-fee to full fee. You do not need to verify with paperwork your income. Financial accessibility also changes over time so this is an on-going conversation when there are life changes. I had a client who lost their job and we did some non-fee sessions because they still deserve support, especially while looking for a new job.
How long are sessions?
Sessions are 60 minutes. I have found, especially with my neurodivergent clients, that 45 minutes is just not enough time to transition into therapy and by the time we get into it, the session is over. I offer 60 minute sessions also because I can't\don't accept insurance and do not need to justify to the insurance companies our time together.
Where do I practice?
I see clients in my office at 3127 W. Wisconsin Avenue, Milwaukee.
I can also see clients virtually if they are here in Wisconsin. I am not able to see clients outside of Wisconsin at this time. There is usually parking on Wisconsin right in front of the building. Parking is also available in the parking lot behind the building off of 32nd Street.
